Old Town Walking Tour and Petanque

Submitted by carmine.nezi on

Your guide will meet you at the pier to a leisurely stroll around St. Tropez, along the chic waterfront and down narrow streets lined with colorful buildings. Along the way, discover the port town’s long history, one overshadowed by its reputation as a glamorous playground, while soaking up the ambience. You’ll follow a route that ends back in the harbor area, in the leafy square of Place des Lises. Here you’ll have the opportunity to play la pétanque, the game of throwing iron balls toward a target ball played throughout southern France, with similar variations found around the Mediterranean. After an introduction and some practice throws, a friendly competition begins, with a referee on hand to keep score and to make sure that rules are followed. Game over, toast the fun and the beauty of the Cote d’Azur with a glass of rose accompanied by snacks before returning to the landing pier.
