New Acropolis Museum and Athens Airport Transfer

Submitted by carmine.nezi on

Combine the convenience of secure transportation from the yacht to the airport with a few hours of sightseeing in the Greek capital. Relax on the drive from the port of Piraeus into Athens where you’ll then follow a route that showcases key landmarks and monuments representing thousands of years of history. Sights include the ancient Panathenaic Stadium, used for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and a few events of 2004 summer games. At Constitution Square, admire the former royal palace that is now the Parliament, in front of which a ceremonial unit of soldiers in traditional costumes guards a monument to the Unknown Soldier. Along Panepistimiou Avenue, one of the biggest in Athens, you’ll see the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University and the National Library. Your destination is the New Acropolis Museum, a modern architectural jewel in the heart of the city and just steps from the Parthenon. Inside the enormous building are some of the best-preserved sculptures and statues recovered from the hilltop temple. Be sure to look down through the glass floors at the ruins of the ancient city. Found during construction, they were preserved by archaeologists and the architects incorporated them into their design. After your time at museum, the transfer brings you to your terminal for your return flight.
