Mustique Retreat

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

A mere five miles separates the anchorage at Bequia from Mustique, the tiny, privately-owned island that attracts the world’s elite with its inimitable combination of simplicity, comfort and barefoot sophistication. The catamaran captain welcomes you aboard a catamaran for a leisurely sail to Mustique. The route takes you past both the historic whaling station on the islet of Petit Nevis as well as the unusual homes of Moonhole, set amid the rock formations and natural arches of a private sanctuary on the far western tip of Bequia. Upon arrival in Mustique, there is free time to browse the boutiques, stroll around the quaint village, go swimming at one of the beaches, or go for the hour-long taxi ride around the island. Then enjoy lunch overlooking the aquamarine waters at the Cotton House, the island’s only hotel and its hub for dining, imbibing and socializing. After the meal, you’re free to do some more exploring or just relax at the hotel -- perhaps at Basil’s Bar, renowned for its easygoing, beach-chic style – before the return sail to Bequia.
