Altos de Chavón is an architectural wonder, a place of inspiration, learning and artistic expression in a breathtaking setting. It was meticulously designed by Dominican architect, Jose Antonio Caro, and Italian master designer and cinematographer, Roberto Coppa, and every detail was handcrafted by local artisans. The Stanislaus Church, consecrated in 1979 by Pope John Paul II, contains the ashes of Poland’s patron saint and statue from Krakow. There’s an amphitheater inaugurated by a performance of Frank Sinatra and now used by famous national and international artists, along with shops, an art gallery, handicraft stores, a discotheque and exclusive restaurants, After your visit and a short drive to La Represa, enjoy a cruise along the Chavón River through a tropical jungle.
