Enjoy a full day exploring the cultural and historical icons of Menorca. From Mahón, drive through farmland to whitewashed Fornells, founded as a defense against Barbary pirates. Set on a bay of the same name, the village is a haven for water sports and lobster boats. Next you will travel to Monte Toro, the tallest point on Menorca, with amazing views, 14th-century buildings, a beautiful Catholic church and a statue of Jesus blessing the island. Continue on to Menorca's former capital of Ciutadella, known for its Old Town, large squares and historical buildings, including a Gothic cathedral and several noble palaces. Take an optional guided tour followed by free time for lunch on your own. After a photo stop overlooking the gorgeous bay of Cala Galdana, your excursion takes you to Torralba d’en Salord, one of the island's finest prehistoric settlements. Here you will observe enormous ancient taulas – megalithic stone monuments for which Menorca is renowned.
