Ibiza World Heritage Walk

Submitted by carmine.nezi on

Discover the UNESCO World Heritage site of Dalt Vila, the ancient fortified town built to defend Ibiza from pirates. Your walking tour begins with panoramic views from its highest point at Baluard de Sant Bernat, one of seven bastions along the city walls. Then walk to Ibiza Cathedral, which dates to the 13th century and houses notable works of Gothic art. Today the cathedral dominates the square where it stands and offers breathtaking views of the sea. You will continue past the elegant town hall, which at various times since the 16th century has served as a monastery, hospital, school and prison – its museum tells many tales. Nearby you will see the Santo Domingo Church, begun in 1592 and completed over a century later. Pass through the ancient city gate and enjoy some time at your leisure in the historic port before returning to your yacht.
